All eyes were watching Ukraine in 2013-2014. Protests swept through the capital against the existing government and in favour of accession to the European Union. It was one of the most striking period in the modern history of Ukraine. BeInside offers to take you on an exciting post-revolutionary journey through the sites which were at the heart of the revolution. You will see and explore an open-air museum of Euromaidan and walk in the shoes of the heroes that fought for the dignity of all. You will get a chance to visit “Ukrainian Versailles” which is also known as a museum of corruption, which is the former residence of ex-president. It is a unique place with a luxury interior and golden toilets. The Revolution of Dignity was a special event in the modern history of Ukraine. The protests started on the 21 November 2013 in response to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to suspend the process of preparation for the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The rallies, demonstrations, student strikes and protests against the authorities intensified after the crackdown in Kiev at night on the 30 of November, leading to open military confrontation, which later developed into the so-called Revolution of Dignity. The open-air Museum of Corruption and Dictatorship known as Mezhyhirya is another important stop on this tour. Although this is not a real museum in the original sense of the word, it is home to some of the most prominent collections associated with the Revolution. 4 hours are recommended to see all that the museum has to offer including unique personal belongings of “big” personalities from the Revolution and a photo-worthy exterior design with high “ancient ruins” and columns. The museum covers almost 140 hectares: a resort with park, waterfront, man-made lakes (which are feed by water boreholes), big waterfall and even a zoo. The surface is so large, that has its own road signs, yacht marina, equestrian club, shooting, tennis court, golf course, spa – center, greenhouse, garage, dining room, duck and horse farm and even a helicopter hangar. BeInside Ukraine invites you to immerse yourself into the world of Ukrainian Revolution and discover the events which influenced the current lives of everyone in Ukraine.
